Campus Life

Athletics

All Saints offers a variety of athletic experiences for our students including cross-country, soccer, volleyball, boys and girls basketball, girls softball, golf, track and tennis. We participate in Diocese of Beaumont Sports League (DBSL) athletic competitions and have received a number of awards throughout the years.

Cross Country

Cross Country is a co-ed sport and preparation includes daily training during gym class and every Wednesday after school during the season.  Cross Country meets are held in surrounding cities on Saturday mornings beginning at the end of August.

Volleyball

Volleyball is for girls only and commitments include daily practices.  Games are on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting in August. The number of team members is limited; therefore a tryout process is necessary to give a fair opportunity to all girls interested in playing volleyball. We will have two teams, “A” & “B”.  Girls in the eighth grade are only eligible to try out for a position on the “A” team whereas girls in the sixth or seventh grade may be selected for either “A” or “B”.

Soccer

Soccer is a co-ed sport. Coaches emphasize skills and teamwork. Hard work is rewarded. Games are on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting in August.

Girl's Basketball

Girl's basketball has tryouts in mid-October, and the season ends in mid-December.  There is an “A” team and a “B” team.  8th graders are only eligible for the “A” team, however, 7th and 6th graders are eligible to make either team.  There is a practice or game Monday-Thursday each week and the “A” team participates in two tournaments that are on a Friday and Saturday.

Boy's Basketball

Boy's basketball has tryouts at the end of October, and the season ends in the middle of February. There is an “A” team and a “B” team.  8th graders are only eligible for the “A” team, however, 7th and 6th graders are eligible to make either team.  There is a practice or game Monday-Thursday each week and both teams participate in two tournaments that are on a Friday and Saturday.

Softball

Softball tryouts are held in the middle of February, and the season concludes in April.  There is only one team with limited spots so a tryout process is necessary to give a fair opportunity for all girls interested in making the team.  Players must provide their own gloves.

Tennis

Tennis is a coed sport that will begin at the end of February and end in April.  There is only a limited number of athletes allowed at each tournament, so a tryout process is necessary to be selected for the team.  Players must provide their own rackets.  Tennis tournaments are held on Tuesdays and begin at 2:00 P.M.

Golf

Golf is a coed sport that begins at the end of February and ends in April.  There is a limited number of golfers we are allowed to bring to tournaments, and per league rules, golfers must shoot below 62 on 9 holes in order to compete in the tournaments.  Golfers must provide their own clubs and tournaments are held on Tuesdays and begin at 2:00 P.M.

Athletic Code of Conduct

Diocese of Beaumont Sports League (DBSL) Rules:

  • We expect the participants and spectators at athletic competitions to be examples of Christian behavior to accept the judgment of the officials at the games, and to keep the competitive activities in proper perspective.
  • We expect the players to serve as positive examples of self-control and self-discipline.
  • We expect coaches to earn the respect of athletes, other coaches, and game officials in the positive way they teach in their programs.
  • We expect cheerleaders, students and spectators to keep all cheers positive and directed toward generating enthusiasm instead of criticizing the opposite team.
  • We expect participants, students, parents, and other spectators to support us in our efforts toward attaining excellence in our program by cooperating with all regulations as well as the Athletic Code of Conduct.

Athletic Eligibility

All Saints eligibility requirements are as follows:

  • An average grade of 74 or below in any subject will render a student academically ineligible for play. At Progress Report time, a grade of 75 or above may reinstate the student to eligibility if he/she is in good standing with teachers.
  • A conduct grade of one N on a report card will result in suspension for one game; two N’s or one U will result in suspension for four and one-half weeks of play. Two or more U’s in the same grading period will result in removal from the team for the remainder of the season.

For any questions regarding your child’s eligibility status or rules of eligibility please contact Coach Andrew Falgout, Athletic Director at 892-1755 ext. 113.
